vWAZA MARSH WILDLIFE RESERVE

RHUMPI, NORTHERN province

We built our own research camp at Vwaza Marsh Wildlife Reserve (VMWR) which is located in Northern Malawi around 7 hours from Lilongwe on the edge of the Nyika Plateau.

The reserve houses a wide variety of wildlife including elephant, hyaena, leopard. waterbuck, wildebeest, baboon, and a variety of birds.

We work here on a seasonal basis at different times of year depending on our programmes. We conduct bat, insect and carnivore research in and outside the reserve, as well as within Nyika Plateau.

We have two permanent camps where are teams are beased all year, and three camps at which we work on a seasonal basis. Take a virtual tour of our camps in the map below.
