vWAZA MARSH WILDLIFE RESERVE

RHUMPI, NORTHERN province

We built our own research camp at Vwaza Marsh Wildlife Reserve (VMWR) which is located in Northern Malawi around 7 hours from Lilongwe on the edge of the Nyika Plateau.

The reserve houses a wide variety of wildlife including elephant, hyaena, leopard. waterbuck, wildebeest, baboon, and a variety of birds. 

​

We work here on a seasonal basis at different times of year depending on our programmes. We conduct bat, insect and carnivore research in and outside the reserve, as well as within Nyika Plateau. 

​

We have two permanent camps where are teams are beased all year, and three camps at which we work on a seasonal basis. Take a virtual tour of our camps in the map below.
